Food Pantry & Garden

“Feed My Lambs” Food Pantry

We operate a small food pantry on premises of The Congregational Church in Exeter, UCC. The pantry is located behind the church office building, at 12 Center Street, and is open for Greater Exeter area patrons on Tuesdays from 10am to noon only. Click here for a listing of other nearby pantries.

How can I contribute?

Donate: If you would like to donate to the food pantry, you may do so at any time during church office hours. The church office manager would be happy to take your donation of either non-perishable food items or cash/check. She will provide you with a receipt, if requested. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm. 603-772-4216

Volunteer:  Opportunities at the pantry are very limited, as the pantry is very small. Occasionally volunteers are needed to sort and stack large shipments like the Boy Scout or Post Office food drives. Please contact the co-coordinators Sue Bowman or Liz Dodge

“Feed My Lambs” Community Garden

Food Justice in action, right in downtown Exeter

Since 2011, we have been growing “salad” veggies ins in the backyard of the pantry. Our five raised-beds are grown using the Square Foot Garden method. All harvest goes to the pantry, picked fresh on Tuesday mornings in the summer. Stop by anytime for a tour!

How can I contribute?

Volunteer: Pick the harvest on Tuesday mornings in the summer, and have it rinsed and stacked on the back porch, before the 10am Pantry opening. Call the church office to see which Tuesdays remain unclaimed. 772-4216.

Donate: If you have extra fresh veggies from your own garden to donate, they may be left on the back porch early on Tuesday mornings, before the pantry opens. Donations of organic seedlings are accepted each spring. Please contact the office 772-4216 to discuss.
